Pass, the Hot Chocolate Please!

It is November, It is FINALLY cold. ( Not that I am particularly a fan of the cold) It is The Best Time of the Year. The interesting thing with where I live, is that there is snow on our mountain. And the trees are still full of beautiful yellow and red leaves.
It is gorgeous, but strange.
Once the leaves fall and the snow comes, it will be a mess to clean up.
It's worth it though.
I have decided that Utah is ridiculous with its weather patterns. Last week it was in the 70's and yesterday it snowed, and it is currently in the 40's.
Waling to class in the snow is no beuno. I slip and slide all over.
But... I can survive knowing that Christmas is around the corner. I love November and December.
Hot Chocolate, Fuzzy socks, Oversized Sweatshirts, the Fireplace burning, Breads, Cookies, Pumpkin, Lights, Family, Decorations, Spices, Music. I could
go on and on, but in a nutshell.I love it!
Happy Holidays.

2010- Best There's Ever Been

Graduation was a month ago.
I slacked off. :/
However, I am done with high school!!! Yipee.
It was amazing; short-and-to-the-point!
Afterwards we had our senior party from 10pm-4am.
SO tired. So worth it!

PHEW

I feel like there has been so much that has happend in my life and I haven't been recording any of it.
Isn't that the beauty of a blog?
Just a quick catch up;
School has come to a close. More on graduation later. But, I loved senior year!!! I have the best friends ever!!! They deffinatly made this year worth it.

STATE! I had more fun at state this year than any other. I've looked forward to it since the season started and it came, and I loved it! We took 6th overall and what an accomplishment that was!

I was able to travel to St. George for a choir tour. The weather was beautiful and it was such an amazing experiance to be able to perform down there! Minus the drama, choir girls ha, it was SO much fun!

End of the year would be little apprecitated if it wasn't for the glorified "FINALS"
Myself and Courtney would leave choir to study. Study. oh, and Study.

Gone So Young

For the closing assembly; myself, Krishelle and Whitney performed the song, "Gone So Young" by Amber Pacific.
We, yet again, wrote our own arrangment. Two part harmony, and piano accompianment. Whitney is AMAZING and blew me away with the idea of another performance. She re-wrote this music in 10 min or so and I immediatly got started on the harmonys :)
The original version of Gone So Young is heavy, upbeat, guitar, bass, drums, ect. We made a complete 180 with this song. The outcome...Beautiful, soft, accustic, and PeRfEcT! Mwuah.
I loved being able to perform on stage one last time before I left my second home. Whit and Krishelle are SO amazing and wonderfully talented at what they do and I loved being able to sing with them!!!

"You and Me"

Last Saturday was Prom :) Prom was at the Weber State Ballroom and I absolutely loved it! I went with Tyler and for our day activity we went to Boondocks. Which is a huge arcade/laser tag/ go-kart place. Then for dinner we went to Union Grill at Union Station which from there a TROLLEY took from the Union Station to Weber State. Everyone was jealous, haha. The dance was amazing, I couldn't of asked for a better night. Everyone looked so amazing at the dance! I am way sad that it is over. Its like Christmas, you wait for it FOREVER and then all of a sudden it is over. Goes by too fast for my liking. However I loved it.

It's A Very Very Mad World.

Today was the Prom Assembly!! Courtney, Blake, Whitney and myself all performed a song together called Mad World. [Originally sung by Tears for Fears and then re-done for the movie Donny Darko] Whitney Played the piano and pretty much put this whole thing together. She made her OWN arrangement! Courtney played the violin and yes, she made up her own arrangement for that as well. While me and Blake wrote a 2 part harmony with solo's to sing along. This entire ensemble was put together in about an hour or less. Can you believe it? I was scared out of my mind, but something happened when I walked on stage. All the fears and butterflies just left. It was amazing, and we did so good :) I'm so proud of everyone! I'm not gonna lie, I am very sad that it is over. You never know I might have to do it again someday! [I'll post pictures later, possibly. No promises however] Now, I have Prom to look forward too :) Saturday!!!!

Reality

The Stars Lean Down To Kiss You, as I Lie Awake and Miss You

The Other day I was hit with a huge dose of reality. It was brought to my attention that a boy I went to school with in MN, since 6th Grade, was killed by a drunk driver on Nov. 22, 2009. I never was very good friends with this boy, Jon Kramnic, but I knew him and I think that is what's getting to me the most.
When I found out I broke down. Why is it that a 17 year-old boy, who had everything in the world going for him, was taken from this earth?
I was forced to recall back to Nov. 20, 2006, almost exactly 3 years early, when another classmate and friend of mine, Brandon Lanie, died in a hunting accident. I was still living in MN at the time when Brandon died, I remember the tears, the sudden sadness felt when I received the news. I joined a group on facebook in remembrance of Jon. I couldn't keep back the tears I had when I read the posts written from Jon's dad and others, sharing memories. On Brandon's facebook page this was written to Brandon from his Mom:
" Hey Brandon, Take care of your friend, Jon Kramnic, as he joins you in heaven. God picks the best flowers for his garden first."
If only the families of these 2 amazing people knew that they can see them again, if they only had the knowledge. But, then there is me. I grew up knowing that there is life after death and that families are forever, Yet here I am questioning and wondering why! Why them? Maybe they were chosen for a bigger task that none of us know about? What ever the reason it is getting to me. Am I living the way that I should be? What if today was my last day?
Graduation is in 2 and a half months. High school, a huge part of my life is almost over. I know that there is so much more outside of high school, but time shows no mercy. It travels at its own pace and its up to us to keep up.
The time we are given on this earth is it. Sometimes I need to take a step back and ask myself; " When I look back is that what I want to remember, will I be proud of my decisions?"
This experiance has been life changing. Jon and Brandon are greatly missed. They are perfect examples of living our lives to the fullest. We need to spend our time with the ones we love, doing the things we love to do and loving every precious minute.
We just need to take a step back.
In Loving Memory of;
Brandon Lanie: 06/05/1992 to 11/20/2006
Jon Kramnic: 06/29/1992 to 11/22/2009

NEW DAY

Well, I have come to the conclusion that Anna and I are the most terrible blogger's on the planet. So, we decided to come up with new hobbies and from now on it will be just me, KATHERINE MARIE, who will be blogging.
I will miss blogging with Anna, even though we rarely did. ha.

I have decided to use this blog to keep updated on world topics. As many of you know I am going to go into Political Science, I need someway to get my opinion and ideas out there. Whats a better way then to blog right?? There will defiantly be others things on here discussed besides politics but just heads up :)

Yay.
